Arrow shot toward playground in Wisconsin while children were present, investigation underway

HARTFORD, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Wisconsin are investigating an incident after a child found an arrow that damaged a piece of playground equipment on Monday.

According to the Hartford Police Department, shortly before 5:30 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a report that someone had shot an arrow at the playground equipment located at Centennial Park in Hartford.

An officer responded to the scene and met with the caller, who stated that she heard a “ping” sound. A child who was playing on the playground equipment said they found an arrow. The caller showed the officer where she believed the arrow had impacted the equipment.

No other arrows were found in the area, and police believe the arrow was released from an area north of Centennial Park.
