Arrow is losing another original cast member

Arrow is losing another original cast member this year, with actor Paul Blackthorne stepping down from the role of Detective Quentin Lance.

As revealed in The Hollywood Reporter, Blackthorne will not return for the show's already-announced seventh season.

Of all the original cast members, only David Ramsey (Spartan) and Stephen Amell (we're sure you know who he plays) remain. Will Holland, who played Speedy/Thea Quinn, shockingly departed the show earlier this season, with the character going off on her own personal quest.

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim previously said of Willa Holland's exit: "Normally when a character's written off, a series regular's written off, it always feels to me like an ending.

"Sometimes it's a literal ending and you're killing off the character, but a lot of other times it's like, well they're going off and just living a much quieter life and there's no more story to tell about them.

"I really like the idea of actually going the opposite route and suggesting a greater and bigger story for Thea. I just think that's both interesting and unexpected."

It's not all departures though. Colton Haynes is coming back as Arsenal as a series regular for the seventh season.

Arrow is a few weeks away from its season six finale, which apparently will have "a very different kind of cliffhanger".

Arrow season 6 continues on Thursdays at 9pm ET on The CW. Sky One airs the show in the UK.
