Fans mourning the impending loss of Arrow after its eighth season will be happy to hear that the character still has more adventures to come.

Serial Box, the company which is also behind the Orphan Black audio sequel series, is developing a new series based on the Arrowverse, involving Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl.

The first of the three to launch will be The Flash, which will be an eight-episode series coming in the autumn.

In the Serial Box show, Lex Luthor has altered the past so that now The Flash, Arrow and Supergirl are all baddies fighting on the side of evil.

But while the heroes don't recall reality, their friends and loved ones still half-remember the fight to correct the timeline and restore them to good.

Speaking about the audio series, Serial Box co-founder and CEO Molly Barton said: "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to super-serve fans of these incredibly popular series with new stories.

"We look forward to working closely with the Berlanti team to ensure that their creations make a seamless transition to our audio and reading formats."

The episodes will be available in both audio and reading formats, and are the "length of an average commute".

Arrow airs on The CW in the US, and on Sky One and NOW TV in the UK.
