Arrested: Alabama troopers find 176 fentanyl pills inside Easter eggs

TUSCUMBIA, Ala. (WJW) – An Alabama man was arrested Monday after troopers found 176 fentanyl pills inside Easter eggs.

According to a press release on the Colbert County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page, drug agents with the Colbert County Drug Task Force stopped a car in  Tuscumbia, Alabama on April 1 around 11:45 p.m.

The driver allowed troopers to search the vehicle, where they found two plastic containers with 176 fentanyl pills inside and a plastic bag with 1oz of “spice” synthetic cannabis.

According to the release, the passenger of the vehicle was identified as 29-year-old Jamarious Qualls, who had misdemeanor warrants for his arrest in the city of Sheffield.

According to the release, Qualls was charged with drug trafficking and unlawful possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.

He was taken to the Colbert County Jail, where he is being held on a $150,000 bond.
