Arrest warrant issued for man wanted in ATM robberies around Prince George’s County

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) said an arrest warrant was issued for a man wanted in connection to a string of ATM robberies.

Stefon Janey, 31, was indicted in connection with eight different robberies throughout the county. Some of the robberies took place at convenience stories in the 8600 block of Baltimore Avenue and the 8200 block of Martin Luther King Junior Highway.

In all the robberies, he and a group of suspects would use hydraulic rescue tools, known as the jaws of life, to break open ATMs and steal the cash inside.

Additional charges against him are possible. His last known address was in Accokeek.

PGPD was still working to identify, find and charge the other suspects involved

Anyone with information is asked to call (301) 516-2830. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered to anyone with information leading to an arrest and indictment of those involved.
