Arrest made in Augusta Mall shooting

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – On Monday, April 29th, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested 24-year-old Tybrea Nelson on two counts of Aggravated Assault for her role in the shooting at the Augusta Mall.

Authorities say Nelson WAS NOT the shooter, but was there with the unknown shooter.

On Sunday, April 28 at 1:43pm, the RCSO responded to Dillard’s in reference to shots fired.

Upon arrival, they found out the suspect had fled the scene and the victim had left before police arrived.

Deputies later learned the victim had driven themselves to a local hospital for treatment.
