Army general facing court martial on sex charges expected to enter plea at Fort Bragg hearing

FORT BRAGG, N.C. - An Army general facing court-martial is set to enter his plea on a series of sexual misconduct charges.

Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Sinclair is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday before a military judge at Fort Bragg, N.C. Sinclair will be formally informed of the charges and offered an opportunity to plead guilty or not guilty.

At an evidentiary hearing in November, prosecutors presented testimony involving Sinclair's conduct with five women who were not his wife, including officers who served under his command.

Though the Army has not released the final charges against Sinclair, a preliminary list included forcible sodomy, wrongful sexual conduct, violating orders, engaging in inappropriate relationships and adultery.

A 27-year Army veteran who served five combat tours, Sinclair faces life in prison if convicted on the most serious offences.
