Armed robber demands cash from Rite Aid clerk

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/ KUSI) — An armed suspected reportedly held up a popular drugstore chain in Normal Heights Thursday, authorities confirmed.

According to the San Diego Police Department, a suspect entered the Rite Aid at 3650 Adams Ave. around 2:20 a.m.

The individual allegedly pulled out a black gun and demanded cash from a store clerk, who complied with the command, police said. The suspected allegedly reached into a register and took an unknown amount of money.

According to SDPD, the suspect then fled the scene in a white Toyota sedan.

The individual was described as a Hispanic man in his mid 20s, who stands around 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black ski mask, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black gloves.

No one was injured during the robbery, and the suspect remains on the loose.
