Arlington police: Man arrested, charged with numerous drug offenses

ARLINGTON, Va. (DC News Now) — Officers from the Arlington County Police Department arrested a man and charged him with numerous drug offenses.

On April 30, at around 8:39 a.m., officers responded to the 2400 block of S. Glebe Road for a report of a “suspicious person.”

Police said that an employee caught two people who “gained entry” into a hotel room and then left the property after they were caught.

Officers eventually found the suspect walking nearby and detained him.

The suspect gave officers a false identity and throughout their investigation into the situation, they found suspected narcotics and credit cards that did not belong to him.

The suspect was identified as 33-year-old Deonte Lewis. He was being held without bond.

His list of charges include:

  • Two counts of felony possession with intent to distribute controlled substances

  • One misdemeanor charge of possession with intent to distribute controlled substance

  • Two counts of credit card theft

  • One count of providing false ID
