Arkansas Martin Luther King Jr. Commission to host Easter egg hunt

WOODSON, Ark. – The Arkansas Martin Luther King Jr. Commission is aiming to bring the community together with an Easter egg hunt next week.

The commission is partnering with the Ossie Barnes Empowerment Foundation to host the event for children ages 3 to 7 in the Hensley-Woodson community on March 30.

The Easter egg hunt will begin at 11 a.m. at the Woodson Fun Park, located at 8300 Woodson Lateral Road.

Executive director DuShun Scarbrough shared that the event is a great opportunity for families to create memories.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Ossie Barnes Empowerment Foundation to bring this wonderful event to the Hensley-Woodson community,” Scarbrough said. “At a time when it’s more important than ever to come together and celebrate our shared values, the Easter egg hunt provides a perfect opportunity for families to create lasting memories.”

Paula Withers, the director of the Ossie Barnes Empowerment Foundation, agreed with Scarbrough, hoping that the event would bring positivity to the community.

“As an organization dedicated to promoting community engagement and cultural enrichment, we are honored to join forces with the Arkansas Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission for this festive occasion,” Paula Withers, the director of the Ossie Barnes Empowerment Foundation, said. “Together, we hope to spread joy and positivity throughout our community.”

The egg hunt is free, and attendees are asked to bring their baskets for collecting eggs.
