Griffin, who lives in Little Rock, was elected to the position in 2014 and is serving his second, four-year term.

He will teach a course called "Professional Development for Public Service" from January to May.

In August, he will teach a political science course called "Parties, Elections and Campaigns."

“We are thrilled our students have the opportunity to learn from Lt. Gov. Griffin," said Drury President Tim Cloyd, in the release. "His breadth and depth of military and public service experience will be invaluable for our students’ education."

Cloyd added: “I am grateful he is sharing his time and expertise with our university community.”

Prior to serving as lieutenant governor of Arkansas, Griffin served in the U.S. House of Representatives.

His service in Congress included time as deputy whip for the majority and as a member of committees including the House Committee on Ways and Means, House Armed Services Committee, the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, the House Committee on Ethics and the House Committee on the Judiciary.

He was a U.S. Attorney in Arkansas in 2006 and 2007. He was also a special assistant to the president and deputy director of political affairs for President George W. Bush.

Griffin has served as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve, Judge Advocate General’s Corps, for over 25 years and currently holds the rank of colonel. He has served as an active-duty Army prosecutor at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) in Mosul, Iraq, for which he was awarded the Combat Action Badge.

In July 2018, Griffin received his master’s degree in strategic studies from the United States Army War College. He previously graduated from Hendrix College, Tulane Law School, and attended graduate school at Oxford University in England.
