Arkansas lawmakers rally at capitol for ATF information after shooting death of airport executive Bryan Malinowski

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A group of Arkansas lawmakers held a protest at the capitol Thursday for information after a shooting death of a Little Rock executive while a search warrant was being served.

Bryan Malinowski was killed after a March 19 shootout with ATF agents who were serving an early-morning search warrant at his Little Rock home. Malinowski, executive director of the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, died of his injuries on March 21.

Legislators, during the protest, called on the ATF to release body camera footage of the March 19 event. The ATF has been tight-lipped about the event and lawmakers said there was some question if agents were even wearing cameras.

“They either did or they didn’t and we need to know the answer to that.” Sen. Mark Johnson (R-Conway) said.

Sen. Matt Duffield (R-Russellville) said the agents were required to wear body cameras.

Doorbell footage of the agents arriving at Malinowski’s home was released earlier this month by the attorney representing the family, but the video recording stops seconds before the agents go inside.
