Arizona man faces murder charge after woman shot, killed on March 3

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man wanted on a murder charge was arrested Wednesday in Dolan Springs, Arizona, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).

Nicholas Ray Volk, 32, of Kingman, was armed with a shotgun when deputies surrounded the residence in the 15000 block of N. Jasper Dr., but he was taken into custody after a short standoff, MCSO officials said in a social media post.

Volk was wanted in the investigation into the death of Marie Ann Noelani Garcia, 30, of Kingman. Dolan Springs is along U.S. 93 about midway between Las Vegas and Kingman. Garcia was shot and killed on March 3 in the 3100 block of Butler Ave., according to MCSO information.

Volk was booked on a charge of second-degree murder at the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending against people who might have helped Volk elude police, according to the MCSO post.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Kingman Police Department, MAGNET, Kingman Fire Department, Northern Arizona Fire Department, Lake Mohave Ranchos Fire Department, River Medical Ambulance, Arizona Department of Public Safety, and Bullhead City Police Department for assisting in Volk’s apprehension.
