Arizona Cardinals' Kliff Kingsbury overwhelming favorite to be next NFL coach fired

The odds are not in Kliff Kingsbury's favor to return as the coach of the Arizona Cardinals, at least according to one site.

Not in his favor at all.

Odds Checker has released odds for the next NFL coach fired and Kingsbury is at -300 in the odds, or a 75% implied chance.

The Houston Texans' Lovie Smith is second at +500 (16.7% implied chance).

The Cleveland Browns' Kevin Stefanski at +700 (12.5%), Las Vegas Raiders' Josh McDaniels at +1100 (8.3%), New Orleans Saints' Dennis Allen at +1400 (6.7%) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Todd Bowles (5.9%) are the other coaches included in the odds.

Kingsbury's team is just 4-11 on the season. He is 28-35-1 in the regular season during his tenure in Arizona.

Could the Cardinals make a change at coach soon?

Odds Checker's Brian Good wrote: "Kingsbury has been the head coach of the Cardinals since 2019 when he was famously hired despite 0 NFL experience and limited college head coaching experience. The team kicked things off by drafting Kyler Murray first overall and while things started out well they have since soured between Murray and Kingsbury. … This season, the Arizona Cardinals are 4-11. Sure, Kyler Murray went down with a knee injury, but this team was bad way before that happened.

He continued: "Which NFL head coach will be the next fired? Well, if you believe sportsbooks and oddsmakers it's not even a question. Kliff Kingsbury isn't just the favorite, he's the massive odds-on favorite to lose his job. At -300, Kingsbury's odds imply he has a 75% chance of being the next NFL coach fired. The next closest coach is so far away that Kingsbury can barely see him."

Some odds think that Kliff Kingsbury doesn't have much time left as the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals.
Some odds think that Kliff Kingsbury doesn't have much time left as the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals.

Speculation has surrounded Kingsbury's job status for much of this season, with one report recently describing the coach as "miserable" this season and even suggesting that he could resign if he wasn't fired this season.

Interestingly, another set of recent odds, odds for Sean Payton's next team, has the Cardinals as the favorite to be the next team for the former New Orleans Saints coach, giving Arizona odds of +250, or a 28.6% chance.

The Cardinals would obviously have to move on from Kingsbury first, something that Odds Checker's odds appear to think is very likely.
