Ariana Grande casually wore a Sistine Chapel fresco to the Met Gala

Apologies to literally everyone on the red carpet at the Met Gala (not you, Rihanna), but Ariana's wins the award for the most artistic interpretation of the Heavenly Bodies theme.

At her very first Met Gala, Ariana wore a dress featuring a fresco painted by none other than Michelangelo a.k.a. the bloke who painted the Sistine Chapel.

Ariana wore The Last Judgement, a fresco which covers the altar wall in the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City. The fresco shows hundreds of, well, heavenly bodies floating around awaiting their judgement by God.

You've gotta hand it to Ariana. Wearing the most famous fresco in the world is a bold, bold move. But, she pulled it off.

Oh, and just in case anyone had forgotten what this centuries-old artwork looks like, Ariana's got you covered. She Instagrammed a shot of The Last Judgement to make sure everyone got the reference.
