GARDENING WORKSHOPS – Ohio State University Extension Mahoning County plans Spring Gardening Workshops on Saturday and April 27 at Extension office, 490 S. Broad St. in Canfield. Workshops will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each week. Design the perfect garden and landscape area for your home by learning from keynote presentations and choosing from breakout sessions. There are opportunities to win door prizes and the Mahoning County Master Gardeners Diagnostic Clinic will be open to help with anything from bugs to pruning and all questions in between. Participants also can take part in a hands-on garden art workshop to make and take items to decorate their homes and gardens. Registration for each program is $45 and includes hot lunch, sessions, proceedings and handouts. CAR SEAT CHECKS – Alliance City Health Department plans a free car seat check from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the department’s office, 537 E. Market St. Those who attend can ensure their seats are properly installed and ensure they are not under recall. Call 330-821-7373.

ALLIANCE SEWERS – City of Alliance Water and Sewer Advisory Board will meet at 8 a.m. May 3 at Alliance City Hall, 504 E. Main St., in the second-floor conference room.

GRANGE BREAKFAST – Smith Grange, 11090 Beloit Snodes Road, plans breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday. Meals are available for dine-in or carryout. Dinners are $12 for those ages 13 and older; $5 for ages 6 to 12; and free for those age 5 and younger.
