INDIAN RIVER Ñ Thursday evening, Inland Lakes High School hosted its commencement ceremonies for the graduating Class of 2022 in the high school gymnasium, ushering the 43 seniors into the next phase of their lives.Due to the weather in the area, the ceremony originally scheduled to take place at Shanley Field, the school district's football field, was moved inside, but that didn't dampen the excitement the students were feeling. This year's co-valedictorians were Alyssa Byrne, Nevin Thompson, Ty Thompson and Megan Vigneau, with the class salutatorian being Emily Van Daele, each of which gave speeches. The students gave their fellow graduates words of encouragement and shared memories of their last 13 years in school together. The graduating seniors were also allowed to decorate the tops of their graduation caps to reflect their personal style. Some chose lights and feathers, others chose to highlight their after graduation plans, and one student had all of her classmates sign the top of her cap.
