Archey inducted into Ky. Lions Hall of Fame

Apr. 30—ELIZABETHTOWN — Jim Archey, of the Greenup Lions Club, was inducted into the Kentucky Lions Hall of Fame during a ceremony in Elizabethtown on April 27.

State and international directors made the presentation during the state convention.

Archey has been part of the Greenup Lions Club for 50 years.

A retired postal worker and substitute teacher, Archey served four years in the United States Marine Corps.

As a member of the Lions Club, Archey served as Club President, District Governor, President of the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation and local area sight recovery chairman.

Through his years of humanitarian service, Archey remains active in helping others.

Archey is also the former "Voice of the Musketeers" as he was on the microphone during basketball games. The 87-year-old currently handles the PA for the Kentucky Christian University basketball programs.
