STORY: Archeologists in southern Italy have discovered a

burial site dating back to pre-Roman times

Location: Amorosi, Italy

The necropolis features various levels of frequentation,

from prehistoric times to late antiquity

A total of 88 burials were excavated

Male tombs contained weapons

Rich sets of bronze ornaments were found in female tombs

The best-preserved evidence dates to between

the final stages of the Iron Age and 7th century B.C.
