Archbold now accepting pharmacy training program applications

Apr. 23—THOMASVILLE- Archbold is seeking applicants for its Pharmacy Training Program, a six-month paid program that trains participants in the role of pharmacy technician.

Students will gain hands-on experience as they complete their pharmacy technician training. Working three days per week, students will be comprehensively instructed through a nationally recognized curriculum and work side-by-side with hospital pharmacy staff.

"Our pharmacy technicians play a key role in helping us provide high-quality care to our patients," said Andrea Jarzyniecki, Director of Pharmacy at Archbold. "This program allows students to gain first-hand experience of the role a pharmacy technician plays in our healthcare system while earning income."

By the end of the program, students are prepared to test and become Certified Pharmacy Technicians and are eligible for full-time employment at Archbold.

Archbold employs over 40 pharmacy technicians who work in over a dozen different roles. Technicians support patient care in retail pharmacy, home infusion, specialty pharmacy, long term care, emergency department medication reconciliation, hospital pharmacy, automated dispensing management, sterile compounding, hazardous compounding, pharmacy procurement, pharmacy benefits, disease management, and more.

"This program has really helped me grow in many areas within the pharmacy," said program graduate Rasheka Turner. "You have the opportunity to train in multiple pharmacy settings to see where you best fit into the Archbold Pharmacy, where I now work full-time."
