ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A group led by the Archbishop of Santa Fe has requested an immediate ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas War. A coalition of faith-based members of the community represented by Archbishop John Wester of the Santa Fe Diocese called for in-depth documentation of possible Israeli war crimes regarding the war in Gaza.

In front of the Deminici Federal Courthouse in downtown Albuquerque, speakers addressed the destruction of infrastructure and lives in Gaza. The archbishop says the death toll has exceeded 35,000 Palestinians and wounded over 76,000. “A humanitarian catastrophe has been unfolding before our eyes… the eyes of the world. It’s such a conflict, continuing such warfare is neither just nor tolerable,” said Wester.

It has been seven months since the war in Gaza started.
