The Apprentice: Fans are livid over this week's 'worst ever' sacking decision
Lord Sugar proved a rather divisive figure in this week’s The Apprentice.
During the show’s penultimate episode, dubbed ‘Interview Week’, each of the remaining candidates were grilled on their CVs and achievements – or in some cases lack of them.
And while audiences cringed and giggled their way through something of a public humiliation exercise, the programme ended with a series of sackings.
But not all fans were pleased with the final outcome.
Some are branding the dismissal of Michaela Wain as the ‘worst decision ever’, when the businesswoman was shown the door, after both Joanna Jarjue, Elizabeth McKenna had been given their marching orders.
It’s not been the best of week’s for Sugar, after he and last year’s winner, Alana Spencer, had a majority of their cake products recalled due to an ‘allergen error’, as well as his private jet making an emergency landing.
Michaela was tipped to win the £250,000 and a 50/50 business venture with business savvy Sugar but after he pointed his finger and uttered those two little words ‘you’re fired’, it wasn’t to be.
Despite proving her worth by running other businesses, there was doubt over her commitment to this project.
‘But Michaela, this business has got to be 100% with me and I don’t want you being de-focused somewhere else. So whether I am right or wrong, Michaela – you’re fired!’
With James and Sarah making it through to this weekend’s final, Lord Sugar had a few words to his potential business partners: ‘Congratulations you two, you’re in the final and I’ll see you on the next task, where one of you will become my business partner – off you go.’
As usual, angry Apprentice fans vented their frustrations on Twitter, including Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis, who wasn’t amused by Sugar’s decision.
I'm struggling to take any of these business plans seriously. I'm glad its not my money that's to be invested? Do you see any that are credibly successful? #bbcapprentice
I suppose if I had to pick one from the limited info we've been shown I'd go with Michaela.

I'm stunned at #bbcapprentice decision. From what we've seen its either a business in a recruitment salesperson, or a derivative sweets business. My money would've clearly gone to Michaela

People were left shocked when, after Lord Sugar had assessed and criticised each candidate, he moving onto Michaela and voiced how he was sceptical of her commitment.
Viewers didn’t exactly hold back with their thoughts on his choice and indeed season 12 as a whole.
This series of the Apprentice has been the worst one ever

@Lord_Sugar made one of the worst decisions I’ve ever seen on The Apprentice #TheOneWhoGotAway

Michaela was the best one man I can't believe Sarah & James are in the final and not Michaela I'm vexed #TheApprentice

With just two candidates left, The Apprentice is set for its pre-Christmas conclusion this weekend – but will Lord Sugar make the right choice this time around?
The Apprentice final airs Sunday, 9pm, on BBC One.
