Appreciation night for veterans, first responders, to be hosted in Hanford

HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – An appreciation night will be held in Hanford for veterans and first responders on Friday night.

The Appreciation Night at the Races will be hosted by the Kings Speedway. The event will have a free concert featuring Deaverville live at 4 p.m., as well as an Army National Guard Black Hawk Helicopter and a special presentation during the National Anthem.

A military discount will be offered to watch the races as well.

Sean Quinn with the Kings Speedway says the event brings veterans and first responders together, allowing them to work on Kings Speedway’s cars.

“We have them holding a flag during a national anthem, and then after that, I actually give them the flag to go home with, so they’ve got something tangible to remember that night,” he said.

He says the event aims to celebrate veterans and first responders.

“Just telling them we love them what they do,” he said.

Kings Speedway is located at 801 South 10th Avenue in Hanford. For more information and where to buy tickets, click here.
