We’re excited to be able to offer this camp for the second year. The program has proven to be an unforgettable experience for campers, who explore medical education through hands-on activities. We will spend time working in small groups in the classroom and the gross anatomy lab, where campers will interact with medical students and faculty to discover a greater appreciation for the human form and learn about clinical correlations resulting from findings during lab dissection… In the program’s second year, we’re looking to increase enrollment and reach students who are looking to learn more about the path to health care careers and provide support for their educational choices

The camp is free and will give campers a hands-on look at clinical anatomy in WVSOM’s gross anatomy lab and in a classroom setting. During the camp, those who attend will learn about anatomical structures and their clinical importance through the use of interactive activities. Lunch and other materials will be provided at the camp.

The amount of accepted campers will increase for the 2024 camp to 15 students, an increase from 10 campers in 2023. Three medical student interns and WVSOM faculty members will teach at the camp.

Applications will need to be sent in by students before May 15, 2024, and will need to include an essay describing their anatomy learning experience, what the applicant hopes to gain from attending the camp, and a letter of recommendation from a teacher.
