Apple’s smartphone OS share hits all-time high in June, BlackBerry dips below 2%
As analysts repeatedly Apple’s iPhone is losing steam ahead of the next-generation iPhone’s launch this coming fall, Apple’s smartphone and tablet operating system share in June hit an all-time high. Market research and analytics firm Net Applications on Sunday released its mobile OS share data for June 2012, which showed that Apple was the biggest winner last month by a wide margin. The Cupertino, California-based consumer electronics giant reached an all-time high in June according to Net Applications’s data, growing to 65.27% after dipping slightly in May to 62.65%. Google’s Android platform was up marginally in June to 19.73% from 19.69% in May, and Research In Motion’s struggling BlackBerry platform dropped below the 2%-mark for the first time to 1.87%.
