After President Obama stepped in at the last minute and reversed a U.S. International Trade Commission decision that would have banned sales of the iPhone 4 and iPad 2, Apple will look to turn the tables and shift pressure back to Samsung. Bloomberg on Thursday reports that Apple will ask a U.S. appeals court on Friday to block sales of several Samsung smartphones that were found to infringe Apple patents. A U.S. trade agency will ultimately determine whether or not imports of the affected devices will be halted, though an analyst speaking with Bloomberg said that the phones in question are older models that make up less than 1% of Samsung’s sales. NH Investment & Securities analyst Lee Sun Tae also noted that Obama could overturn any ban issued on Samsung devices just as it did for Apple.
