With its newest iPad mini, now featuring Retina display, Apple has tended to one of the main gripes users had with the original. Now with a crisp, high resolution screen comparable to the other popular mid-sized tablets on the market, we wanted to take a closer look at how the full specs of the new mini look juxtaposed to the competition.


Google's second Nexus 7 and Amazon's new Kindle Fire HDX 7" have great screens in their own right, and sell for much less, but, as Apple CEO Tim Cook jabbed from the stage at Tuesday's iPad event, Apple's iPads feature 475,000 dedicated tablet apps, not "stretched-out phone apps."
