It’s no stretch to say that Samsung is getting tired of hearing about Apple’s “rubber band” design patent. Reuters reports that a court in Tokyo has found Samsung guilty of infringing Apple’s design patent that details the “bounce-back” effect Apple uses on its iPhones and iPads. Apple’s win over Samsung in Japan comes just over a week after the United States Patent and Trademark Office confirmed four claims detailed in the patent, including one claim that Apple used to score a $1 billion patent trial victory over Samsung last summer. None of this means the patent war is any closer to being finished, of course, since Reuters notes that Apple and Samsung are still engaged in patent disputes in 10 different countries.
