Apple loses UK appeal, now forced to run ads admitting Samsung not a copycat

Samsung’s (005930) Galaxy Tab may be “not as cool” as the iPad, but it’s also a winner in a UK court of law. Per BBC News, an appeals court in the United Kingdom has shot down Apple’s (AAPL) appeal to overturn an earlier ruling that Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 didn’t infringe upon the iPad because it lacked the “cool” functionality of Apple’s signature tablet. As a result, BBC News says that “Apple still needs to run ads saying Samsung had not infringed its rights,” although Apple can still appeal the case to the UK Supreme Court.
