Apple’s iOS 7 beta 2 to be released today [update]
We have been told via our carrier sources that iOS 7, Apple’s brand new mobile operating system to be released sometime this fall, will be getting an update to beta 2 today. While Apple normally seeds iOS betas to carrier partners before developers, we believe there’s a good chance it will make its way to the Apple Developer portal today, too. iOS 7 is not a public release, but multiple app developers have reported that they are seeing more people running iOS 7 than iOS 5 in their app logs. That could amount to hundreds of thousands or even millions of people running iOS 7 already. Apple’s iOS 7 is a major update and a complete rethinking of the company’s mobile vision for the future, and while the current release is usable, many people are eagerly anticipating a new update that should fix bugs, introduce some refinement, and possibly even include some new features. If Apple makes iOS 7 beta 2 available for developers to download today, which we believe it will, it should become available around 1:00 pm EDT.
