Apple hit by chip flaw, Sonic sizzles, Barnes & Noble tumbles

Apple (AAPL) shares are in focus today after it revealed all its Mac systems and iOS devices are affected by two recently disclosed processor flaws called Spectre and Meltdown. However, Apple stressed that there were no known instances of hackers taking advantage of the flaw to date and that Apple is expected to release a patch soon. Checking out the chart, shares are up in midday trading.

Sonic (SONC): The fast food chain reported a mixed earnings report, but that including earnings that beat street estimates, and the fast food chain also projected earnings growth in its fiscal 2018 outlook. Taking a look at the chart, shares are higher today.

Barnes & Noble (BKS) has another tough day, with holiday sales of $953 million, a 6.4% decline. Comparable store sales also fell, while online sales slid 4.5%. Shares are tumbling over 10% in midday trading.
