We know that season three of Stranger Things was confirmed by Netflix, so now all we have to do is wait. But the bad news is that it could be quite a long wait.

David Harbour-a.k.a. Hawkins' Chief Hopper-told Variety that we might even have to bide our time until 2019 for another instalment of the cult show. For the love of Steve!

"I mean, one of the things that's annoying for fans is that it takes us a long time to do them," he admitted. "Like, you probably won't get [season three] until sometime in 2019."

Of course, Harbour is entirely convinced that the wait, no matter how long, will be worth it (same), and that the Duffer brothers will be putting the third season together as quickly as they can. "Like any good thing, they need time. And those guys work so hard. I mean, they just sit in their apartment and write for 12, 14 hours a day," he said.

Fortunately for fans, the brothers are going to carry on with the show for at least one more season after that, if not more. Producer Shawn Levy recently admitted that Netflix was "heartbroken" when the series was pitched to end after four seasons. "The truth is we're definitely going four seasons and there's very much the possibility of a fifth. Beyond that, it becomes, I think, very unlikely."

Stranger Things is available to stream on Netflix.
