Most anticipate finally getting answers to many questions introduced in 2016's The Force Awakens. Why exactly did Rey's (Daisy Ridley) parents abandon her on the desert planet Jakku? Who were they? Does her ability to use the Force mean she's related to Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Luke (Mark Hamill)?

The trailer’s highlights include an icy space cat creature, a tense staring contest between Kylo Ren and his mother Leia, a life-size Snoke, and a porg sitting on the dashboard of the Millennium Falcon, flapping its little wings and screaming alongside Chewbacca. Oh, and in the final moments, Rey seemingly asks Kylo for help navigating the Force.

Rey's not the only character inspiring questions; fans have become so obsessed with guessing the true identity of Snoke (that giant villain who towered over Kylo Ren in The Force Awakens) that it's become a Star Wars fan inside joke to cut each other off, saying, "Your Snoke theory sucks." On top of Rey and Snoke, we still need to learn what the hell Luke has been doing alone on an island for years, whether killing Han Solo irreparably damaged Kylo "Ben" Ren and thrust him into the Dark Side, and how Star Wars will eulogize Carrie Fisher in her last film playing General Leia Organa. That's a lot of expectation packed into one film, but building anticipation has been an integral part of Star Wars since day one.
