'Dancing with the Stars': Julianne Hough not returning as a judge for season 25

"Dancing with the Stars" will look a bit different next season over at the judges' table.

Julianne Hough will not be returning for season 25, ET confirmed on Wednesday. The news shocked fans, all of whom expected to see Hough alongside fellow judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba. Hough has been on the panel with them since 2014.

It's unknown why Hough will no longer be on the show or if she plans to return for future seasons.

It's possible that the many developments in Hough's life contribued to the decision: She recently tied the knot, marrying Brooks Laich in July, and she's been traveling and performing alongside brother Derek for their MOVE BEYOND Live on Tour.

Before joining the trio, Hough was on the other side of the dance floor as a five-time competitor. She even took home the Mirrorball Trophy -- twice!
