This 'Black Panther' proposal was perfect, except for one tiny detail

The Black Panther hype is real, and now that the film's finally hit theaters people can barely contain their excitement.

Many are dressing up to honor Wakanda, but one man took things a step further, donning a Black Panther outfit and proposing to his girlfriend at a screening in Brooklyn.

The heartfelt moment went down on Thursday night at Brooklyn's Alamo Drafthouse and was documented on Twitter by lucky movie-goers who happened to be in the same theater.

According to Twitter user @Rob_Pratt the man surprised his girlfriend at the 10:15 p.m. showing, knowing she would be there with her friends.

The moment looked picture-perfect, except for one tiny thing. The grand gesture didn't last too long because the man reportedly didn't have a ticket and had to leave after popping the question. Hmm...

While we'd all love to get engaged before watching one of most anticipated movies of all time, it might be nice to not have to say goodbye to your brand new fiancé immediately after accepting and then sit in a dark theater unable to tell your family and friends for two hours and fifteen minutes.

Still, the proposal got the Alamo Drafthouse seal of approval and the theater tweeted to remind all the guys out there they need to step up their games.

The theater really set the mood with a special musical performance before Thursday's pre-screening, and an Ethiopian-inspired menu for customers.

Wakanda would be proud.
