'Agents of SHIELD' claims first victim in Framework

Warning: This story contains major spoilers from Tuesday’s episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Read at your own risk!

If you die in the Framework, you die in real life. It’s plain and simple. It’s for that very reason that the Framework claimed its first victim during Tuesday’s episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

During Tuesday’s episode, Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), Coulson (Clark Gregg), and Ward (Brett Dalton) tracked down Radcliffe (John Hannah), but they weren’t the only ones to do so. Madame Hydra (Mallory Jansen) and Fitz (Iain de Caestecker) arrived not long after to interrogate Radcliffe about the subversives being harbored on the island.

Knowing what happens if you die in the Framework, Simmons begged Ward not to shoot Fitz, explaining that he’s truly not evil. But this version of Fitz proved he actually is by shooting Agnes (also Jansen). Thus, Aida’s real-life inspiration has officially died - and she may be the first of many.

“The Framework is a dangerous place,” executive producers Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen tell EW. “I think it’s safe to say that, if an innocent woman can be killed by one of our main characters, no one is safe.”

Who may be next? We’ll find out when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
