APNewsBreak: NJ Gov. Christie proposes another tax cut a year after a similar one withered

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- The Democratic leader of the Assembly says the governor has not identified a way to pay for his new tax-cut plan or other initiatives, while the Assembly Republican leader is calling for a special session of the Assembly to consider the proposal Gov. Chris Christie revived Monday.

Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Barbara Buono say Christie is posturing before the November election.

Assembly Minority Leader John Bramnick says the Assembly should meet in special session once the legislation is drafted.

Christie spells out his latest version of a plan to phase in a 10 percent tax cut in a conditional veto of a bill that would restore the earned-income tax credit for the working poor. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the document in advance.
