APNewsBreak: Wis. state workers to receive 1 percent raise under Walker administration plan
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker's administration is recommending a 1 percent pay raise for state and University of Wisconsin workers in each of the next two years.
The pay plan proposal was laid out in a letter provided Tuesday to The Associated Press. The letter from Walker's administration was delivered to the eight lawmakers on a special legislative committee set to vote on approving the pay plan on Wednesday.
The UW Board of Regents earlier this month voted to ask that UW System employees' pay raises be the same as those given to state employees. The last system-wide pay increase came in 2008 when faculty, staff and other UW System employees got raises of 1 percent.
State workers got no across-the-board increase in pay over the past four years.
