APD: Overnight crashes leave multiple people with serious injuries

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department responded to two separate crashes that led to serious injuries overnight.

NMAA issues VVHS baseball strike after Monday night incident

On the evening of May 15, APD responded to the area of Pan American Freeway and Jefferson in response to a serious injury crash. Police say traffic was stopped on northbound Pan American Freeway at Jefferson for a red light. A vehicle traveling north failed to stop and struck multiple vehicles at the intersection. Police say three adults and one child were hospitalized with minor injuries and the driver of the vehicle that caused the crash was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

May 16, around 2:30 a.m. APD was called to the area of 1420 Montano Rd. for a crash involving a pedestrian. Police say a semi-truck was driving on Ken Sanchez Way NE., behind the address listed. A pedestrian was sitting on the curb with their legs partially in the road. The truck struck the pedestrian’s legs and the pedestrian was dragged under the tire. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with significant injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
