“Anything Goes” youth addition kicks off

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — We have a special edition of our popular Here’s To You Kid. The curtain is about to go up on a Broadway favorite in Schuylkill County.

The Blue Mountain Middle School will present “Anything Goes” the Youth Addition.

The drama club has been working very hard on this musical and enjoyed talking with them as they prepared for their performance.

Singing, dancing, and acting what some may call a triple threat is what you’ll find at Blue Mountain Middle School,

Members of the seventh and eighth-grade drama club are presenting Anything Goes Youth Edition.

Another student says it was a challenge for her at first, but it’s been a fun journey.

Here’s To You, Kid!

“Because we had to learn so many steps and different movements and stuff but once we got a hang of it, it was really fun and I really enjoyed being a tap dancer. I’ve been tap dancing since I was seven years old,” explained Anabelle Edmones a student at Blue Mountain.

This play is made up of the seventh and eighth graders so they all have some advice that they would give to younger students interested in being part of the play next year.

The students and staff involved in this worked very hard to bring it together and the director says she is so proud of how far the students have come. Thea Sten, who you may have seen performing on our PA live! show, says she hopes those who attend the musical see the drama clubs’ dedication to their craft.

“I hope that they’re impressed because we put so much work everyone has into this amazing show to make it what it is and I just hope I hope we don’t disappoint. I hope they love it,” says Sten.

The play premieres Friday night and Saturday night at 7:30 at Blue Mountain Middle School and again on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
