Apr. 5—DEWITT — U.S. Sen. Charles Grassley visited Clinton County on Friday as part of his 44th annual 99-county tour.

The Camanche-DeWitt Coalition, which is dedicated to fighting substance, hosted the senator at the DeWitt Community Center. Grassley and attendees discussed his advocacy on behalf of drug free communities, drug prevention methods, the Cooper Davis Act and ending drugs sales on social media.

"I applaud the Camanche-DeWitt Coalition for its work on substance abuse prevention initiatives," Grassley is quoted in a news release from his office after the meeting. "I'm grateful coalition members took the time to speak with me today. They asked important questions on federal legislation and matters important to their community, and I look forward to bringing their insights back to Washington."

The Drug-Free Community Act provides grant funding for the coalition.
