Anthony Mackie teases 'stupendous' Captain America: Civil War

Anthony Mackie has teased that 'Captain America: Civil War' is "stupendous".

The 36-year-old actor - who is reprising his role as Sam Wilson (Falcon) in the upcoming movie - has branded the film "The Avengers 3.8".

He told Collider.com: "Let's just say it's a wing-ding-doozy of a time. The great thing about it is, after seeing The Avengers I joked and said Captain America 2 was Avengers 1.5.

"Now with Avengers 2 coming out... Captain America 3 is so far beyond Avengers 2.5 and onto the realm of Avengers 3.8. It's by far one of the most stupendous rides Marvel has put together."

'Captain America 3', which will continue the adventures of Steve Rogers (Captain America), played by Chris Evans, will also see Robert Downey Jr. join the cast as Tony Stark (Iron Man).

The sequel will also introduce a new Marvel superhero, Black Panther, played by Chadwick Boseman.

Joe and Anthony Russo, who directed 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' and expected to return as directors for the third instalment, which sees the collective governments of the world pass an act which is supposed to regulate all superhuman activity.

The new law causes The Avengers to split opinions and an epic battle ensues, with Iron Man and Captain America heading the opposing sides.

Production will begin later this year with the release date currently set for May 6, 2016.
