“The Right to Contraception Act is a testament to our unwavering commitment to reproductive freedom and autonomy,” Daniels said. “Now more than ever, it is essential that we proactively safeguard these rights, ensuring that every Alabamian has the freedom to make informed decisions about their reproductive health.”

Daniels said he introduced the bill in response to Alabama’s IVF Supreme Court ruling. According to Daniels, it is a necessary response. If passed, the act would “uphold and protect Alabamians’ right to contraception, including condoms, the pill, and IUDs.”

“The introduction of the Right to Contraception Act comes at a pivotal moment for reproductive rights in Alabama, offering a beacon of hope and a path forward amidst alarming restrictions on reproductive health care.”
