Ant-Man Director Teases Appearance Of Giant Man
‘Ant-Man’ may be just the first step for the shrinking Scott Lang… as director Peyton Reed hints that we may see him use his technology to become Giant Man.
It’s no secret that Marvel’s comic book version of Ant-Man has used a variety of different personas. After all, one of those – Yellowjacket – even made it into ‘Ant-Man’ as the film’s villain. But there’s one persona that fans would love to see on the big screen.
And it looks as though Ant-Man might be getting bigger…

During an interview with Screen Junkies, ‘Ant-Man’ director Peyton Reed was quizzed about the possibility of seeing Giant Man on the big screen… and it sounds rather promising.
“Listen, I think with Hank Pym and Scott Lang, and with that technology, I think it’s safe to say at some point somewhere you’re going to see some real growth for that character,” he said while adding a knowing nod to the camera. “I hedge my bet there, because it could be sort of growth as a human being, emotional growth, or literal giant growth. There’s a good chance of that.”
Of course, ‘Ant-Man’ itself has already hinted at the possibility. After all, we’ve seen the Pym Particles at work as they enlarged a toy Thomas the Tank Engine in one of the funniest moments of the movie.
And after accidentally enlarging an ant, it seems Scott Lang could be next.
But when will this transformation take place? It seems there are already rumours about Scott Lang’s next appearance in ‘Captain America: Civil War’.
“Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man will have a much ‘bigger’ costume upgrade,” said the guys at JoBlo. “You can expect to see Ant-Man take on his Giant Man form (about 15-20 ft. height) and square off against Iron Man and his team.”
This certainly sounds like an impressive match-up, and would look stunning on the big screen – especially if Ant-Man is able to shrink and expand rapidly throughout the fight. This could even prove to be one of ‘Civil War’s most visually impressive moments.
But will it happen? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
