Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway airs show first

Ant and Dec were subjected to some payback in the latest episode of Saturday Night Takeaway, with the tables being turned.

Tonight’s (April 6) episode saw ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Out of Me Ear’ return, except the hosting duo would not be the ones dishing out instructions.

Instead of having the comfort of a secret room, the pair were thrust into the action as Britain’s Got Talent judges Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden were handed the reins in Dec’s section.

The pair had particular fun in getting their revenge, with Amanda instructing Dec to eat a banana after dipping it into some tea, much to a horrified guest.

The segment ended with a surprise appearance from popstar Craig David, who put Dec through his paces during an energetic cardio workout.

Ant was given orders by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond, with the former telling Ant to profess his love for Sunderland AFC – a sore topic for any Geordie. Surprise guest Richard Madeley also got in on the act, with the presenter joyous as he got revenge.

The pair had previously spoken about being on the receiving end of things for a change, with Ant saying that the pair were “very nervous” about the change in format.

“Normally when you're trying to get celebrities for things like this it's hard to pin them down because of busy diaries,” he said. “But we've been told that everyone who they asked immediately said yes and made themself available.”

Elsewhere in the episode, Take That performed in ‘The End of the Show Show’ with Lenny Rush as the Star Guest Announcer, Next week’s bumper episode will be the finale before the show goes on hiatus, with the edition set to contain many surprises.
