Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway wrapped up live on ITV tonight (April 13), with the long-running programme now set for an indefinite hiatus.

Extended to two hours, the series 20 finale was jam-packed with celebrity guests including announcers Girls Aloud, Craig David, Professor Brian Cox, This Morning duo Josie Gibson and Alison Hammond, Gogglebox's Scarlett Moffatt, and bands Kaiser Chiefs and S Club.

Holly Willoughby (along with Rylan Clark, Oti Mabuse, Olly Murs, Davina McCall, Gino D'Acampo and Cheryl) got her revenge in a reversed version of 'Get Out of Me Ear', too, with hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly forced to dine in a restaurant as their past prank victims made them squirm with horrendous tasks.

It was all very high-octane until the last 10 minutes of the show, with McFly stars Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher joining the boys onstage for an emotional acoustic sing-song.

'All About You' was their tune of choice; Ant and Dec fittingly altering the odd lyric chunk to reflect their appreciation for the loyal Takeaway audience.

"Around the nation on your sofas, and at your doorbells too, and without the greatest audience ever, we don't know what we'd do... So let's just take a moment to say a big thank you, we love spending Saturdays with you, you and you," they sang.

The pair also looked back on the show's 20-year history as they showed a range of highlight clips, with an emotional Dec revealing that "when we started this back in 2002, we thought we'd be lucky if we got to do this for maybe a couple of years.

"So what's happened has honestly been beyond our wildest dreams. We have truly adored every second of making this show. But there's one thing we've never, ever forgotten, and that's the fact it's not our show, it's your show."

Equally as teary-eyed were the Takeaway viewers of course, as many of them bid farewell to Ant and Dec on social media while commending what could be their last-ever episode of the show.
