Another warm day before storm chances arrive tonight

What We’re Tracking

  • Hot again today

  • Several storm chances ahead

  • Still mild next week

Clouds have started to build in overnight as storms pass just to our west. They should track northward this morning just barely missing us, but we’ll continue to have passing clouds throughout the day.

Expect plenty of sunshine for your Sunday with highs topping out in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Winds pick up a bit this afternoon at 20-25 mph from the south. This will gradually draw up higher humidity into the area making the heat index reach the lower to middle 90s. That will set the stage for some stronger storms over the next few days.

Our best chance for storms looks to be late Sunday, late Monday and Tuesday as they carry the risk of strong to severe storms. As of now, our biggest threats look to be some strong winds and hail, although we can’t rule out a brief spin up.

Overall, most of the day time should be dry as our next few systems will be during the evening hours.
