Russian Telegram channels have reported explosions and a fire at the Kuibyshev oil refinery in Russia’s Samara Oblast.

Details: Local residents reported an explosion at the Kuibyshev oil refinery.

As a result of the explosion, a fire broke out at the refinery near the city of Novokuybyshevsk in Samara Oblast.

Early reports indicate that the refinery was attacked by a drone.

Updated: The regional authorities reported that the fire at the refinery’s primary oil distillation tower was caused by a drone attack on the Kuibyshev oil refinery.

Quote: "UAVs attacked oil processing plants in the region at night. A fire broke out at the primary oil distillation tower at the Kuibyshev oil refinery.

There were no fatalities or casualties."

For reference: The Kuibyshev oil refinery specialises in the production of motor fuels, including petrol and diesel fuel meeting Euro-5 emission standards and several dozen other petroleum products in demand on the market.
