Another Double-Fatal Crash: 7 Dead In 3 NJ Accidents This Weekend

Police reported another double-fatal crash on a NJ highway – the state's third multiple-fatality crash this weekend.

Two people were killed in a Garden State Parkway crash on Sunday – the state's third multiple-fatality accident since Friday – as the horrible weekend on New Jersey highways continued.

The parkway crash followed a deadly wreck that killed three people in Pennsville on Friday night, and two more died in an accident on Route 18 in Colts Neck on Saturday, according to police.

On Sunday, two were killed and two more were seriously injured in a 3 a.m. crash on the Garden State Parkway southbound lanes in Galloway Township near milepost 42.1, police said.

In that wreck, a Nissan Sentra veered off the parkway, struck several trees and caught fire, police said. The unidentified driver and a 20-year-old male passenger were pronounced dead after the crash.

Two others, a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man who were backseat passengers of the Nissan, were seriously injured. Both were transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, and then the 20-year-old man was later flown to Cooper University Hospital in Camden for treatment of his serious injuries, police said.

The police have not yet identified the victims in the crash, saying they need to first notify the next-of-kin.

Police, meanwhile, also have not yet identified the victims in the two other crashes that happened in New Jersey this weekend.

In Colts Neck, two people were killed in an oil tanker crash on a New Jersey highway on Saturday night, according to police.

The driver and a passenger in a tanker truck were killed after the vehicle overturned on Route 18 in Colts Neck, according to police.
