The annual Egg hunt and Earth Day celebration at Governors Island are returning in March and April bringing plenty of family fun.

The egg hunt returns on March 30, with 50,000 candy-filled eggs scattered throughout the island. Attendees will have between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to locate as many eggs as they can and they expect performances from Bubbledad and WonderSpark Puppets. Visitors will also be able to meet and take pictures with a Spring Bunny.

Governors Island’s third annual Earth Day celebration on April 20 will honor native plants through free workshops, guided tours, and a participatory mural.

“Egg Hunt and Earth Day both provide visitors with incredible opportunities to explore our 120 acres of open space and come together to celebrate the return of warm weather,” said Clare Newman, President and CEO of the Trust for Governors Island. “Whether you’re coming out to hunt for eggs or help us create native plant habitats, we can’t wait to see you on the Island this spring.”
